Overview

This activity gives students the opportunity to explore a variety of natural resources and products that people depend on every day.  In addition, students will gain insight into the processes by which these natural resources are turned into products and, when possible, recycled into new products.

Objectives

• Identify the natural resources from which products are derived.
• Trace the fife cycle of a product from natural resources, to the raw materials, to the finished product.
• Describe how energy is consumed in the manufacturing and transportation of products and how it might be conserved.
