MICHIGAN FORESTS FOREVER TEACHERS GUIDE
FOREST PESTS & EXOTIC SPECIES |
Try developing one or more of these ideas into a exploratory-discovery activity.
1. Students can research forest damaging insects that affect Michigan forests.
2. Discover and learn about damaging agents in your local area. What might the prognoses be for the next year?
3. Learn about invasive exotic species in your area. Where did they come from? What kind of damage do they do to trees?
4. Research and write a report on a specific tree disease, insect pest, or other damaging agent.
5. What forest damaging agents are there besides insects and diseases?
