It's amazing how many things contain wood or derivatives from wood. Most of the items are things we don't think about very much. And, many of them are items we would not want to do without. Wood is an amazing natural resource. When broken down into various chemicals, dyes, compounds, and extracts, the properties of those components can be combined with a wide range of other materials for composite materials most of us could not imagine.
Several sources suggest that the number of products made from wood or that contain wood number in the thousands. Terry Conners, with University of Kentucky Extension, mantains a robust list; "Products Made From Wood".
